Employee Handbooks

We did recently update our handbook.  This happened over the course of 4 years and accomplished through executive, HR, and core-leadership envolvement.  The biggest reason it took 4 years was mostly due to the lawyers getting involved, which also caused it to balloon from an 8-page document to over 50 pages!  AI was not a really big thing at the time, so I imagine we would likely use AI now if we had to do it all over again, with only a legal review needed before going live with the policy.

I manage several handbooks for various clients.  All but one is on SHRM's site in the Handbook Builder platform.  It could be more user friendly, but I've used this for the past six years.  It's $420/year and provides online access for employees, a Word doc and a PDF.  The handbook is monitored by Jackson Lewis, and they send out notifications of any action items needing attention, changes in the law, etc. that may apply throughout the year.
