Does the driver of a CMV over 26,000 lbs with a 5,000-gallon Kittle with molten aluminum have to have a tanker and hazmat endorsement?

  In my opinion,Yes. The tank endorsement is based upon the capacity of the tank of 1,000 gallons or more. A kettle acts as a container for bulk liquid/molten material exceeding 1000 gallons. The endorsement applies to any tank, permanent or temporary, which also constitutes a portable tank.
